Summary
· The Education Resource Chest (ERC) was produced to meet specific environmental education targets within the Objective One programme and Action Plan. Actions were geared towards increasing the use of the Firth for education and curriculum linked projects. · The Scottish Natural Heritage Sea Chests were very popular with schools around the Moray Firth and demand was identified for a resource specific to the Cromarty Firth. · The objective was to provide people with a locally based resource that would inspire, increase understanding and stimulate the participation in activities which would have a positive impact on the Cromarty Firth environment. · Completed in Aug 2001, it has been booked out on loan constantly.· In June 2003 the ERC will be handed over to the Highland Council library service were it will be integrated into the educational resource loans system.
